sas [Search on AGR]
Drosophila melanogaster stranded at second (sas) encodes a single-pass transmembrane protein that localizes to the apical cell surface in polarized epithelia, such as the embryonic/larval salivary gland (SG). Overexpression of sas in the developing SG leads to all membrane domains taking on apical membrane character, with the exception of the region where septate junctions form.
CUZ1 [Search on AGR]
Saccharomyces cerevisiae Protein involved in Ub-proteasome dependent catabolism; interacts with Cdc48p and the proteasome, protecting cells from arsenite-induced proteotoxicity through stress granule (SG) clearance; contains a PACE promoter element; co-regulated with proteasome subunit genes; contains an AN1-type zinc finger, a DHHC domain and a UBL fold; complements SG clearance in arsenite treated HeLa cells depleted of ZFAND1, a human ortholog linked to cancer; protein abundance increases under DNA replication stress
